The Alexandrian Order of Alkemy (A.O.A.) is a modern mystery school whose beliefs are based on the teachings that started in Alexandria, Egypt and has been preserved ever since in the form of occult mysteries throughout the ages. Our goal is to continue building the Temple and contribute to the Great Work so that we may forge the Philosopher's Stone.

What is "Alkemy"?
Alkemy comes from the Arabic "al kimiya" and means "from Egypt" and is often translated as alchemy or alkema. We spell it "alkemy" to differentiate it with fictional and chemical alchemy much as magick does in modern magick practices.
Why Alexandria specifically?
Although the occult teachings are older than Alexandria itself, originating from far Ancient Egypt and other civilizations; the modern occult and religious philosophy specifically began in Hellenistic Egypt at the Serapeum (the home of the legendary Library of Alexandria) in Alexandria, Egypt. This includes the oldest copy of the "Hebrew" Bible, the Septuagint which was written in Greek.
What religion do you follow?
As a mystery school, we do not adhere to one specific religion. Instead, we call our collection of beliefs Mythopoetica. Religions that are mythopoetic believe that religious and spiritual inspiration can come from any myth or source as all myths, ancient and modern, are living and actively evolving. Where science attempts to explain what life is, Mythopoetica attempts to define the meaning of life. This meaning is found symbolically from all sources of imagination and myths.
Is joining free?
Yes, you can join the Alexandrian order of Alkemy for free. We offer further services and products at a cost but we also accept donations on our Patreon which also has bonuses for joining but to be a member of the Temple itself is free.
